10,000 Letters, 10,000 Stories
Long before the banks collapsed on Wall Street, and long before the levees collapsed in New Orleans, too many Americans were left behind. And still are. But there's a chance to make things right along the Gulf Coast and elsewhere.
Thanks to your response to our Oscar weekend call to action, we've sent more than 10,000 letters to Congress! That's 10,000 voices urging our political leaders to act now to support the communities still fighting to recover more than three and a half years after Hurricane Katrina.
As documentary filmmakers, we know the power of individual voices and personal stories. So we want you to tell us: Why is the Gulf Coast recovery important to you?
Tell us your story now. We'll post some of the best stories on our website and use them in the campaign to build support for those still fighting to return, recover and rebuild.

President Obama is already responding to the national outcry for action, announcing the extension of the Office of the Federal Coordinator for Gulf Coast Rebuilding, pledging millions in additional housing aid, and sending two cabinet members to the region.
And thanks to your commitment to those along the Gulf Coast, Congress is also receiving our message loud and clear.
But the fact remains: there's still so much to be done.
In hundreds of communities across the country -- in cinemas and at universities, houses of worship and community centers -- we've seen the power of "Trouble the Water" to engage audiences in dialogue, and in action.
This gives us hope and makes us believe that the possibilities for change are endless. Now we'd like to hear from you. Please tell us your story.

Carl and Tia
