Conference explores using documentary to engage students

Trouble the Water is moving from the silver screen to the classroom.

In July, two hundred faculty participants at the Middle College National Consortium (MCNC) 2008 Summer Professional Development Institute summer conference created an interdisciplinary curriculum unit based on the documentary.

The MCNC is a non-profit organization committed to “driving educational reform by making college a reality for traditionally under-served youth.” The consortium is made up of a network of high schools situated on community college campuses and is funded partially by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Do you think that Obama is going to win because the Republicans have such a bad candidate?
Why did John McCain make his final argument against Obama… coal?
That’s his closing argument? William Ayers, Rev. Wright, spreading the wealth, Born Alive, meeting dictators without preconditions, etc. all have to take a back seat so that McCain can go to Colorado and New Mexico to talk about coal? Does this more or less explain why he’s going to get his clock cleaned Tuesday?
