DC-AREA FUNDRAISER FOR HISTORIC GREEN

CALLING ALL DC-AREA NEW ORLEANS FANS:  COME OUT TO CELEBRATE & SUPPORT THE SUSTAINABLE REBUILDING OF NEW ORLEANS’ LOWER 9th WARD

Climate change-related disasters continue to devastate communities around the globe, but your fellow Americans in New Orleans are still recovering from Katrina four years later.  As they try to rebuild their homes and lives, please let them know you haven’t forgotten about them.

JOIN US on February 27 for a special screening at AFI Silver and New Orleans-style party following at Jackie’s Restaurant.

     AFI Silver Theatre, Silver Spring, MD, Saturday, February 27, 5:45 p.m.

Hailed as “absorbing,” “a must see,” “Oscar material” and “the best movie at SXSW,” this is a documentary about the essential bond between humans and animals, set against the backdrop of Hurricane Katrina. *Filmmaker Erin Essenmacher in person

Party:       Jackie’s Restaurant, Silver Spring, 8 – 10:00 p.m. New Orleans party to follow   screening.  Join us for New Orleans cuisine, music by J.P. McDermott and a Silent Auction.  $5 donation requested at the door,  $10 buffet option. All proceeds will go directly to the New Orleans sustainable rebuilding event Historic Green.
