Nation’s capitol to use film for youth programs

Two organizations in Washington D.C. both have plans to show Trouble the Water to the youth that are involved in their programs.

The first organization’s - Serve DC - mission is to “strengthen and promote the District of Columbia’s spirit of service through partnerships, national service and volunteerism. Mayor Adrian Fenty’s Office on Volunteerism hopes to show the film to young people and community service leaders.

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation offers an opportunity to youth between the ages of 15 and 24 to become American Red Cross certified lifeguards. The Department plans to show the film to all of those participating in the lifeguard academy.
